GET OUT OF THE COLD!!!-Fort Lauderdale Beach is Awesome- a local, Dean Myerow

This is the place to come when the winter sets in around the USA and elsewhere. Arrive at Fort Lauderdale International Airport and the sun and sand are a 15-20 minute ride away. Uber and Taxi from the airport are easy to find, with Uber being less expensive and leaving from a designated Uber pickup point. The Uber ride to the beach is about $20.

The beach itself is wide with fine powdery sand, and some palm trees for shade near the sea wall. There are plenty of brand name hotels like Sonesta, the W, and Westin as well as independent hotels across from the beach. There are plenty of places to dine right across the street from the sand. Sun, Sand and Surf (S3) is very good, with small plates and a cool vibe. Looking for burgers, pizza, and family food, there is plenty of that as well.

You can walk up to a bar/restaurant to hear live music at places like the Elbo Room at almost any hour of the day. Rent a jet ski, moped, or motorcycle. Go canoeing at Birch State Park across the street from the beach.

All in all, working at Dean Myerow Associates near the beach, playing in my free time on the sand makes me a local that recommends getting out of the cold and come play on the beach.

I am more complex than it appears. I am a Fox News watching Libertarian conservative that deeply values the idea of capitalism, Laissez Faire economics, and strong military. And on the other hand, my favorite book is Jack Kerouac’s On the Road, and my favorite music is the Grateful Dead. So reconciling, my conservative values with my counterculture roots is interesting . I enjoy taking long walks on Fort Lauderdale Beach with my Goldendoodles, Otis and Brady, when I am not actively working as a board member at Green Point Research. I am a terrible golfer, who prefers the tennis court any day of the week. I am the lucky father of three teenagers and happily married for over 20 years.
